well well. please read up on KM and prepare. YEP.
anyone in doubt of their grouping for the MI project (details on KM in the lesson plan for term2) please ask me.
*the project is roughly about language and how it affects our preconceptions (or rather, misconceptions. this relates to scepticism.) and our thought process.
EXAMPLE: the way you address a teacher, for example mr chris ho. if you address him as Mr Ho, you will show more respect for him than if you simply called him Chris. (no disrepect meant; this is simply an example)

PLEASE read up on informal fallacies over KM and FINISH YOUR ESSAY (due 19th apr, extended fr 17th).
the details given below are taken from KM. so if you;re too lazy to look, here it is.
Length of Essay: 800 – 1200 words.
Questions:
1. Why is the truth important? While evaluating the various reasons you put forward to support your claim, you might also take into consideration why some people would prefer not to know the truth. Use material from The Matrix, Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, and other current sources to illustrate and support your argument.
2. There is a tradition that goes back as far as Plato that says that three conditions must be satisfied in order for one to possess knowledge. This account, known as the Tripartite Theory of Knowledge, analyses knowledge as Justified True Belief. Show your understanding of JTB by explaining each condition with examples and illustrations which can come from The Matrix , current news events, daily occurrences, or any projects or assignments that you have done. Show why all three conditions have to be fulfilled before you can say that you know something.
3. Consider one of the main sources of knowledge we depend on. Examine how it informs us and evaluate its reliability. You will need to consider a range of illustrations which can come from the area of science, social science, mathematics, politics, current affairs, history etc.
4. Why is it important to doubt?
5. Explain and examine Descartes’ “Meditations on First Philosophy”. What personal responses can you give to the Arguments from Error, Dreaming and Deception?
6. This is a banner taken in late December 2004 ** SAY NO TO UNJUST LAW**, outside the Houses of Parliament in London. hullo!
i've decided that there's too much stuff to put into a single sms, i've just sent all of you an email with all the information regarding our little class thingy on friday. i know, how very nineties.
well, i hope you read it thoroughly (caution: it's hella long!) and get back to me by thursday the 16th 10pm.
oh remember, i sent it as far as possible to the emails you guys use on regular basis (like on msn) but there are some i dont know, so i just used the emails found on our contact list. so if you don't find it in your mailbox, check your other emails.
