Thank you for having signed up for the UrbanBees program. There are some details I need to know, and some very important stuff you need to know.
1) VERY IMPORTANT stuff - we need people who are VERY COMMITTED. we are mentoring children, and if there is no commitment, it not only leaves a bad impression, but also affects your tutees. When we say "commitment", it means that this would take priority over a lot of other activities that are last minute e.g. cca (sometimes), school talks, school camps whatever unless for really really valid reason, e.g. you are extremely sick. The centre will not condone it if you come one week, don't come next week, then come ten years later again. Punctuality is of utmost importance as well. - Urbanbees start at 4 or 4.30pm and ends by 6 pm every weekday. You have to make the commitment to come once a week. - You are tutoring either Mathematics or English (the Programme Leader will let you know) - Everyone in this programme must attend 1 training session, the interview, and submit a volunteer form which IS A CONTRACT. - Urbanbees starts 3 March which IS NEXT WEEK. - The Centre is at Commonwealth (about 15 minute drive from school.) 2) Details I need
1. INTERVIEW - when can you make it? We will all go down as AN ENTIRE GROUP either on Monday or Tuesday next week for it.
2. TIMING - that you can make for the urbanbee session with your tutee. As mentioned, it is from 4/4.30pm to about 6pm (about 1.5 hours) on weekdays.
3. TRAINING - this is for the training session. scheduled it tentatively on Tuesday around say 4.30pm. Sorry to say, but this is compulsory as set by the centre. Please respond to tell me if you can make it. For the centre, this also shows your commitment.
FINALLY, please please reply me the above details BY 12am TODAY (which is 27th Feb) so I can do the roster asap as the centre wants it extremely soon. If I do not receive it by latest 12.30am, OR if I receive incomplete information, then we'll conclude that you don't want to join this programme (sorry! but we're on a terribly tight schedule).
